WHAT DID I DO TODAY
Is it called the Acorn, petite hearing
device one plants in the ear? One's brain pushes itself
toward sound,
the head a beach at full-dusk. I'm talking one night of
serious drinking. Now it's morning. The dogs
snore near the fireplace grate. I watch a tractor push dirt up a
grade while
a daddy longlegs carries a cricket over my latest manuscript.
